Ghana froze $50M in assets tied to NPP official Bernard Antwi-Boasiako amid corruption probe.
The Economic and Organised Crime Office has frozen approximately GH¢50 million in accounts linked to Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, as part of ongoing corruption investigations.
This brings the total frozen assets to GH¢1.5 billion across multiple cases involving former officials.
Government spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu clarified that asset freezes are temporary and require court convictions before recovery, emphasizing they are standard investigative measures.
He also noted President John Mahama’s reference to GH¢600 million recovered pertained to routine cases, not major corruption probes.
