Azerbaijan resettled 184 people in liberated territories amid ongoing return efforts.
On March 11, 2026, Azerbaijan resettled 20 families (81 people) in Girmizi Bazar, Khojavand district, and 21 families (103 people) in Khanabad, Khojaly district, as part of its ongoing “Great Return” initiative.
The displaced families, previously housed in temporary accommodations, received keys to newly restored homes equipped with modern utilities.
Officials from the State Committee for Refugees and ANAMA warned residents about landmine risks and urged caution.
The move is part of President Ilham Aliyev’s broader effort to repopulate liberated territories, with over 50,000 people now returned to Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.
