An 18-year-old student died from alcohol poisoning after a fraternity hazing ritual, leading to arrests and chapter suspensions.
An 18-year-old Northern Arizona University student died of alcohol poisoning after a fraternity rush event, with an autopsy showing a blood alcohol level 0.425%, more than five times the legal driving limit. He was among four individuals who shared two bottles of vodka in a ritual meant to induce vomiting. Witnesses monitored his condition throughout the night but could not prevent his death. The university suspended the Delta Tau Delta chapter, and the national organization disbanded the campus chapter. Three fraternity leaders, aged 20, were arrested on suspicion of hazing and are under review for possible charges.
