Two died, three were injured in a Philadelphia crash after a speeding Nissan ran a stop sign, hit a Honda, and struck a truck; police found a gun and ammo in the Nissan.
A multi-vehicle crash on West Godfrey Avenue in Philadelphia’s Germantown neighborhood Monday evening resulted in two deaths and three injuries.
The incident, reported around 8 p.m., involved a Nissan traveling west that allegedly ran a stop sign, striking a Honda driven by a 72-year-old woman before hitting a parked box truck.
Two young people died—one at the scene and another at a hospital—while two others from the Nissan, a 16-year-old and a 20-year-old, remained in critical condition.
The Honda driver was hospitalized in stable condition.
Police believe speed contributed to the crash, found a broken semiautomatic gun and live ammunition in the Nissan, and are reviewing surveillance footage.
The victims’ identities have not been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
