A new Amrit Bharat Express train will launch on March 13, connecting Charlapalli near Hyderabad to Kamakhya in Assam, spanning over 1,500 km in 28–30 hours with stops in key cities like Vijayawada and Rajahmundry.
The service, operated by South Central Railway, offers sleeper and general second-class coaches with modern safety features including fire detection systems, sealed gangways, and talk-back units—some introduced in non-AC coaches.
The route enhances connectivity between Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and northeastern India, supporting tourism, trade, and regional integration.
Charlapalli station, opened in January 2025 at a cost of Rs 413 crore, serves as a major terminal.
This launch follows the announcement of another Amrit Bharat Express between Nagercoil and Charlapalli, further expanding rail access across southern and northeastern India.
