German startup Polarise to launch 30MW AI data center in Amberg, mid-2027, with renewable energy and expansion potential.
German start-up Polarise plans to build a 30-megawatt AI data centre in Amberg, Bavaria, launching in mid-2027 with potential to expand to 120 MW, aiming to boost Germany’s domestic computing capacity amid efforts to strengthen sovereign control over critical technology infrastructure.
The project, not receiving state subsidies, will integrate on-site wind, solar, and battery storage to combat rising energy costs.
It follows a similar 12-MW facility in Munich opened in February 2026.
