Rev. James Treasure appointed as new Suffragan Bishop of St Germans, effective spring 2026.

The King has approved the appointment of Revd James Treasure as the next Suffragan Bishop of St Germans in the Diocese of Truro, succeeding Bishop Hugh Nelson who is moving to Worcester. Treasure, ordained in 2017 after training at Ripon College, Cuddesdon, previously served in a free church before joining the Church of England. He led major redevelopment and mission initiatives at St Thomas and St Luke’s in Dudley, a Grade II* listed church, and oversaw four churches in the area. His appointment, effective spring 2026, recognizes his leadership in community outreach and church growth. He will be consecrated at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 1 and formally welcomed at Truro Cathedral on May 10.
