Qatari authorities have arrested 313 people of various nationalities for sharing videos and spreading misleading information during ongoing Iranian attacks on the Gulf region, which have included drone and missile strikes on airports, military bases, energy facilities, and residential areas since February 28.
The arrests were carried out by Qatar’s Department for Combating Economic and Cyber Crimes, with similar actions taken by Bahrain, Kuwait, and the UAE, where individuals were detained or warned for sharing false news or sensitive content.
Despite strict enforcement and public appeals to rely only on official sources, images and videos of the attacks continue to circulate widely online.
