Oxfordshire’s apprenticeship program expands access by letting large firms share unused training funds with smaller ones, backed by a £100,000 pledge and supporting hundreds of apprentices.
Enterprise Oxfordshire’s Apprenticeship Levy Support Scheme is expanding access to training by allowing large employers to share up to half their unused levy funds with smaller businesses.
The initiative, backed by Grundon’s £100,000 pledge, has mobilized £6.6 million in funds, supported 529 apprenticeship starts, and generated £15.9 million in social value.
Administered under new local authority oversight, the program provides end-to-end support for partner matching and levy transfers.
Grundon also sponsors the Higher/Degree Apprentice of the Year award at the 10th annual Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards, scheduled for May 21, 2026, at the University of Oxford.
