Noah Taylor of Bancroft was fined $7,000 and banned from hunting for one year after pleading guilty to illegally hunting a white-tailed buck at 7:29 p.m. on December 5, 2024, after legal shooting hours ended at 4:59 p.m. Conservation officers found he used another person’s deer tag, invalidated at 4:00 p.m., which he affixed to the deer to falsely indicate a lawful harvest time.
The case was heard remotely in December 2025 by Justice of the Peace Christopher I. Peltzer in Belleville.
The Ministry of Natural Resources urges the public to report wildlife violations via its TIPS line or Crime Stoppers.
