The Miami Dolphins traded safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to the New York Jets for a 2026 seventh-round pick.
The Miami Dolphins have traded veteran safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to the New York Jets for a 2026 seventh-round draft pick. The Jets will sign Fitzpatrick, 29, to a three-year, $40 million contract. A three-time first-team All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler, Fitzpatrick played for Miami after being drafted 11th overall in 2018, before being traded to Pittsburgh in 2020 and returning to Miami. In 2025, he recorded 82 tackles, one interception, six passes defensed, one sack, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. The trade strengthens the Jets’ secondary ahead of the 2026 season under new defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.
