Manitoba to require free menstrual products in workplaces starting August 2026.
Starting August 2026, Manitoba will become the first Canadian province to require provincially regulated employers to provide free menstrual products like pads and tampons in workplaces, aiming to improve health, inclusivity, and equity.
The policy, supported by the Manitoba Federation of Labour, will cost employers $10 to $25 per worker annually, plus up to $300 in one-time setup fees for dispensers.
It applies only to provincial jurisdiction workplaces and seeks to reduce financial strain on workers, particularly those facing economic hardship.
