Luzerne County to vote on using opioid settlement funds for women's recovery house, mobile outreach, and police headquarters demolition.
Luzerne County Council will vote on Tuesday on allocating $75,000 to Lotus Manor, a women’s recovery house in Kingston, and $149,490 to Volunteers of America’s “Give Hope” mobile outreach program, both funded by opioid settlement money.
The council will also consider creating three new committees to oversee policy, a $300,000 request to demolish a former church for a new police headquarters, and extending a contract with Booth Management Consulting for American Rescue Plan work using interest earnings.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in Wilkes-Barre with remote options.
