Julie Hatton, 51, died seven months after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in November 2023, shortly after her mother also died from the same illness. Her husband, John Hatton, a maths teacher from St Helens, said she first noticed weakness in her left arm while cooking, followed by leg weakness, leading to a rapid decline. In her memory, John has written a book titled 'No Plan B,' based on diary entries, to honor her life and raise awareness about MND.
