Fugazi releases *The Scrapped Sessions*, unreleased 1990s recordings, with proceeds benefiting a Chicago poverty charity.
Fugazi has released *The Scrapped Sessions*, a charity album featuring unreleased recordings from the original 1990s sessions for their album *In on the Kill Taker*.
The tracks, recorded at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio studio, were abandoned by the band and Albini, who felt they didn’t fully capture their vision, leading to a re-recording.
Now, decades later, these raw early versions of songs like “Facet Squared” and “Smallpox Champion” are being made public.
Proceeds support Letters Charity, the Chicago nonprofit co-founded by Albini and his wife Heather Whinna to aid families in poverty.
The release honors Albini’s legacy and offers fans a rare look into Fugazi’s creative process.
