On International Women's Day 2026, 9,111 women and girls from Dombivli and Kalyan, India, set a new Guinness World Record with a synchronized lezim dance, surpassing the previous record of 7,338 participants.
The five-and-a-half-minute performance, held at the Shri Sant Savalaram Sports Complex, was organized by Dombivlikar Ek Sanskriti Parivar and the Kalyan Taluka Physical Education Committee, with support from Maharashtra BJP leader Ravindra Chavan.
The event highlighted cultural heritage, community unity, and women’s empowerment, drawing thousands of spectators and earning official recognition from Guinness World Records.
