Two years after retiring from competitive swimming, Olympic gold medalist Mack Horton, 29, is transitioning to cycling, preparing for a two-day segment of the nine-day Tour de Cure Signature Tour from Canberra to Tasmania, beginning March 12, 2026. Though he still swims occasionally, his focus is now on training for the event, which aims to raise funds for cancer research. Participating alongside nearly 200 riders, Horton, a father and full-time consultant, is using his platform to support a cause close to his heart, marking a new chapter in his life beyond elite competition.
