On International Women’s Day 2026, India’s Chief Justice led a walkathon in Chandigarh to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.
On International Women’s Day, March 8, 2026, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant led a 2.5- to 3-kilometer walkathon in Chandigarh, starting at Sukhna Lake and ending at the Open Hand Monument, as part of India International Disputes Week.
The event, attended by women and men from the legal community, judicial staff, and residents, promoted gender equality and women’s empowerment as a constitutional imperative.
CJI Kant emphasized women’s equal role in justice and society, calling for a future where women can freely participate in public life.
