India's 'Sanyukt Kavach' drill in Pune tested urban chemical attack response with 19 agencies, boosting national CBRN readiness.
Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth attended the conclusion of the week-long 'Sanyukt Kavach' military-civil fusion exercise in Pune, simulating a chemical attack response in an urban setting.
Conducted by the Indian Army’s Southern Command, the drill involved 19 agencies including the armed forces, NDRF, police, medical teams, civil administration, academia, and industry partners.
It demonstrated coordinated efforts in threat detection, containment, decontamination, casualty evacuation, and joint command, emphasizing interoperability and a whole-of-nation approach to CBRN threats.
The exercise reinforced national resilience in complex, uncertain environments and highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance preparedness across major urban centers.
