Himachal Pradesh announces 25% women’s job quota, higher pensions, and marriage age rise on International Women's Day.
On International Women's Day, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a 25% reservation for women in Class-III government jobs and a special recruitment drive for women police sub-inspectors.
The state will double the Mahila Samman Rashi to ₹2 lakh, provide a monthly pension of ₹1,500 for women, and expand support for widows’ children’s education.
The government also plans to upgrade Nahan Medical College with a ₹500 crore investment and raise the legal marriage age for women to 21.
