Families urge Malaysia to extend search for MH370, which vanished in 2014, as contract nears end.
Families of the 239 people on Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 are urging the Malaysian government to extend its contract with Ocean Infinity to continue the search for the missing aircraft, which vanished on March 8, 2014, en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
The latest search, conducted under a “no find, no fee” agreement, covered about 7,571 square kilometers of seabed over 28 days but found no wreckage, ending January 23 due to harsh weather.
The government has not yet decided whether to extend the contract, which expires in June, as families push for continued efforts and broader involvement of other firms.
