The Long March-8A Y8 rocket has been successfully moved to Launch Pad No.
1 at Hainan’s commercial spaceport in southern China, marking the final step before a scheduled launch.
The upgraded rocket, capable of delivering 7 tonnes to a 700-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit, is designed for rapid, high-density satellite deployments.
Since its debut in February 2025, it has completed seven missions and is expected to support about 15 launches of the Long March-8 series in 2026, playing a key role in China’s satellite internet constellation efforts.
