A 33-year-old drug dealer, Bamidele Fawehinmi, has admitted to manslaughter and causing grievous bodily harm in the death of 55-year-old Dimitrios Tsavdaris, a frail former chef found dead in a Hackney flat in January 2024.
Tsavdaris, who weighed just over eight stone, was allegedly abused over weeks, forced to sleep on a garage floor beside pitbull cross-breed dogs in Essex, and later moved to a “cuckooed” flat in London where he died from multiple fractures, brain bleeding, and internal injuries.
Police found blood at the Essex home and in Fawehinmi’s car.
Though acquitted of murder in a prior trial, Fawehinmi pleaded guilty at a retrial, attempted to flee to Nigeria, and was remanded into custody ahead of sentencing on May 8.
Authorities described him as a violent exploiter of vulnerable individuals.
