game on March 6, 2026, defeating Corey Aiello of Indianapolis and Heidi Schmechel of New Jersey.
He built a lead after a correct Daily Double answer, maintained momentum through Double Jeopardy, and correctly identified Equatorial Guinea in Final Jeopardy, finishing with $36,199.
Schmechel also answered correctly and doubled her score to $24,400.
Aiello, who recovered from negative money, incorrectly guessed Singapore and ended with $2,796.
Denison, calling the experience surreal, will return for game two on March 9.
