Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of betraying India by signing a U.S. trade deal, claiming it harms farmers, threatens energy security, and allows American access to Indian data.
Speaking at the end of a month-long political yatra in Kerala, Gandhi said the agreement favors U.S. agribusinesses and could undermine small businesses, while alleging Modi is influenced by former U.S. President Donald Trump.
He also claimed the Kerala government is under Modi’s control.
The opposition Congress party and its allies used the event to promote a "neo-Kerala model" focused on governance reforms and pledged to win over 100 seats in upcoming state elections.
