Pakistan raised fuel prices amid IMF demands and supply concerns.

The IMF has urged Pakistan to immediately raise petrol and diesel prices to global levels, ending subsidies, as part of fiscal reforms to stabilize the economy. Officials demand the government collect Rs 1,468 billion in development levies on fuel by June 30. In response, the government increased fuel prices by Rs55 per liter, citing supply shortage fears amid regional tensions. Meanwhile, prices of 13 essential commodities rose during the second ten days of Ramadan.
