Mother Agnes Mary Donovan to receive Fiat Award on June 27, 2026, for her pro-life leadership and support of women in crisis.
Mother Agnes Mary Donovan, first superior general of the Sisters of Life, will receive the Fiat Award from the GIVEN Institute on June 27, 2026, for her decades-long commitment to pro-life work and support of women in crisis. Recognized for her leadership, psychological expertise, and spiritual guidance, she helped expand the Sisters of Life’s mission since their founding in 1991, offering services to pregnant women and those affected by abortion. A former Columbia University professor with a doctorate in psychology, she co-founded GIVEN to empower Catholic women through leadership development. The award celebrates her embodiment of the “fiat” — a selfless response to God’s call — and will be presented at The Catholic University of America, followed by a conversation with legal scholar Helen Alvaré.
