On International Women’s Day, over 2,000 girls in Mumbai and Vijayawada received self-defence and health education to boost safety and empowerment.
On International Women’s Day, over 2,000 adolescent girls across Mumbai’s Dharavi and Vijayawada participated in self-defence and health awareness programs.
In Dharavi, more than 1,500 girls attended workshops on personal safety, hygiene, and boundaries led by Dr. Cheetah Yajnesh Shetty and the Family Planning Association of India, part of NMDPL’s community outreach.
In Vijayawada, nearly 500 girls trained in self-defence through the Kaarunya Helping Hands Foundation’s program, supported by local leaders.
Both initiatives aimed to build confidence, safety awareness, and empowerment among young women.
