Delhi launched a free women-only transit card, boosting women's mobility and transport funding.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta rode a DTC bus using the new Saheli Pink Smart Card, a free, contactless transit card for women and transgender residents launched by President Droupadi Murmu. The card, accessible via Aadhaar and mobile registration, enables touch-free boarding and improves fare transparency. Gupta highlighted a 60% budget increase for Delhi’s transport sector, allocating Rs 9,110 crore for 2025–26, and tied women’s empowerment to national development, citing initiatives supporting education, safety, and self-reliance under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
