Cumbria's jobless claimant count rose in February, though still below last year’s levels.
In February, Cumbria's claimant count for Universal Credit and Jobseekers Allowance rose 5.1% to 6,585, with Carlisle City Centre seeing a 6.2% monthly increase, though totals were still 275 below last year’s level.
The county’s January claimant rate was 2.2%, below the national average of 3.8%.
Copeland had a 6.1% claimant rate among 18-24 year-olds, above the national average, while Allerdale and Barrow were below.
Cumberland saw a 1.9% year-on-year drop.
The data includes those actively seeking work and those in employment receiving support through Universal Credit.
