Roblox launched an AI chat filter on March 5, 2026, that instantly rewrites offensive messages to safer language for verified younger players.
Roblox has rolled out an AI-powered real-time chat rephrasing feature on March 5, 2026, automatically rewriting offensive messages to more appropriate language during gameplay, such as changing “Hurry TF up!” to “Hurry up!”. The system, which notifies users when a message is modified, is currently available only to players who have completed age verification and are in age-matched groups (9–12, 13–15). Unlike previous filters that obscured banned words, this update aims to maintain conversation flow while enforcing community standards. The change is part of Roblox’s broader effort to improve safety, especially for younger users, and follows its recent requirement for age verification to access chat. The company’s stock rose 1.90% to $68.68 on the announcement day.
