Mumbai's GTB Nagar redevelopment begins, rebuilding 25 unsafe buildings into high-rises with resident compensation and MHADA management.
Mumbai’s GTB Nagar redevelopment project has entered implementation after MHADA, local housing societies, and Rustomjee Group’s Keymidtown Developers signed a tripartite agreement.
The 11.2-acre project in Sion Koliwada will redevelop 25 unsafe buildings, benefiting around 1,200 residents with new homes and ₹20,000 monthly rent compensation during construction.
Three high-rise towers of 39 to 48 storeys will be built under a 4.5 FSI, with MHADA managing the completed buildings for five years.
The initiative, valued at ₹4,521 crore, marks MHADA’s first use of the construction-and-development agency model on private land.
