The Minnesota Wild acquired defenseman Jeff Petry from the Florida Panthers, trading a conditional draft pick.
The Minnesota Wild acquired veteran defenseman Jeff Petry from the Florida Panthers on Thursday, trading a conditional 2026 seventh-round draft pick that could upgrade to a fifth-rounder if the Wild win two playoff rounds and Petry plays in at least half their postseason games.
Petry, 38, recorded eight assists in 58 games this season, his first with Florida, and played in his 1,000th NHL career game on November 17.
A 2006 second-round pick by Edmonton, he has 393 points in 1,039 career games across 16 seasons with five NHL teams.
The move adds depth to the Wild’s defense as they push for a playoff berth.
