Governor Tim Walz ordered U.S. and Minnesota flags to fly at half-staff in honor of Sgt. First Class Nicole M. Amor of White Bear Lake, killed on March 1, 2026, in a strike at Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, along with five other U.S. service members. Amor, a 20-year military veteran who served in the 103rd Sustainment Command and previously deployed to Kuwait and Iraq, was recognized for her dedication to logistics and service. The flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of her interment.
