Mexico and the U.S. will begin bilateral trade talks on March 16 as part of the first joint review of the USMCA, a 2018 trade agreement that has shaped North American economic ties.
The discussions, led by Mexican Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, will focus on rules of origin, supply chain security, production capacity, and economic integration.

The review, set to conclude by year’s end, comes amid ongoing tensions from past U.S. protectionist policies and uncertainty over the agreement’s future.
Mexico and Canada are also advancing separate cooperation efforts ahead of the broader review.
