Kenya Airways names new board amid government-led overhaul to address financial struggles.
Kenya Airways has appointed Kiprono Kittony as board chair and named Chris Diaz, Prof Winnie Iminza Nyamute, and David Ndii as new board members, effective March 5, 2026, as part of a government-ordered overhaul following leadership departures.
The changes aim to stabilize the financially troubled airline, which reported a Sh5.4 billion profit in 2024—the first in 11 years—but still carries negative equity of Sh129.5 billion.
The government, holding 48.9% of shares, continues efforts to attract a foreign strategic investor, though progress remains stalled.
