Kasha Sanderson, 40, of Bristol, was sentenced to nine years in prison on March 5, 2026, for smuggling 13 military-grade firearms, nearly 300 rounds of ammunition, and 5kg of heroin into the UK through Dover Eastern Docks on February 24, 2025.
She was stopped at the border after arriving on a ferry from Calais in an Irish-registered Peugeot 3008, with weapons and drugs concealed in custom-built compartments.
Sanderson initially claimed she was scattering ashes in France but later admitted to importing firearms and drugs, believing she was smuggling cannabis.
The National Crime Agency said the weapons posed a serious threat and that the arrest disrupted a major organized crime network.
