Gujarat reshuffles 37 IPS officers, creates new Banaskantha range ahead of elections.
The Gujarat government has reshuffled 37 IPS officers, creating a new Banaskantha police range and increasing total ranges to ten.
Key appointments include Dr. Shamsher Singh as Director of Civil Defence and Commandant General of Home Guards in Ahmedabad, Nirlipt Rai as DIG of Rajkot Range, and Raghvendra Vatsa as IGP of Ahmedabad Range.
Ashok Kumar was transferred to IGP, CID (Intelligence), and Parikshita Rathod named IG of the new Banaskantha Range.
The move, cited as being in public interest ahead of upcoming elections, also included new zones in Ahmedabad and promotions for several officers, including women.
