Former Scotland rugby captain Stuart Hogg lost his MBE in Jan 2026 after pleading guilty to domestic abuse.
Stuart Hogg, former Scotland rugby captain, has had his MBE revoked after pleading guilty to domestic abuse.
The honor, awarded in the 2024 New Year Honours for services to rugby, was annulled following his conviction for coercive and controlling behavior toward his former wife, including shouting, tracking her, and sending over 200 distressing messages.
He received a one-year community payback order and a £600 fine after breaching bail conditions.
The King directed the cancellation, and Hogg’s name was removed from the Order’s register, confirmed in the Gazette on 30 January 2026.
The decision follows criticism from advocacy groups over retaining honors for those convicted of abuse.
