Florida lawmakers pass tax cuts on outdoor gear and firearms, with revenue losses up to $154M, before March 13 reconciliation.
The Florida House passed HB 7031, a tax cut bill eliminating sales taxes on firearms, accessories, camping gear, fishing equipment, and American-made beer through June 2027, while extending a hunting, fishing, and camping tax holiday from September 1 to December 31.
The back-to-school holiday is moved to July 20–August 20.
The Senate passed a similar bill with broader exemptions, including tennis tournament tickets and $50 million in annual funding for rural counties.
The House plan is projected to reduce revenue by $153.9 million; the Senate’s by $55.7 million.
Both bills must be reconciled before the session ends March 13.
