Florida Bar investigates Lindsey Halligan over misconduct allegations tied to her improper use of U.S. Attorney title after a court dismissed her cases.
Lindsey Halligan, the former interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, is under investigation by the Florida Bar over allegations of professional misconduct.
The probe, prompted by complaints from the Campaign for Accountability, centers on her conduct during investigations of James Comey and Letitia James, which were dismissed after a federal judge ruled her appointment unconstitutional.
Despite the ruling, Halligan continued using the title "U.S. Attorney," prompting a judge to bar her from doing so.
The Florida Bar has confirmed the investigation, while the Virginia Bar declined to act.
The Justice Department has appealed the dismissal but has not sought to suspend the order.
Halligan has not commented.
