Singapore denies any Singaporean fought for Israel in Gaza, calling such service illegal.
Singapore has found no credible evidence that two Singaporeans fought for Israel’s military in Gaza, according to Coordinating Minister for National Security K. Shanmugam, who stated on March 5, 2026, that such actions violate national law and loyalty.
While a report claimed over 50,000 IDF soldiers had foreign or dual citizenship, including Singaporeans, Singapore has not confirmed any involvement and has yet to receive a response from Israel despite formal inquiries.
The government reiterated that serving in foreign armed conflicts is illegal and could result in detention or loss of citizenship, especially for dual nationals, and vowed to act if credible evidence emerges.
