Starting in 2027, Mallorca’s capital Palma will limit cruise ship arrivals to three per day and cap daily tourist numbers at 7,500 during summer months through 2031, reducing from 8,500 to ease overtourism. The measure, agreed upon by the Balearic Government, Palma City Council, and 20 cruise lines, aims to protect the historic center and infrastructure amid rising visitor numbers, including over 2 million UK tourists in 2025. The restrictions will end in 2029 but extend through 2031.
