The inaugural Rural Woman of the Year award has launched in New Zealand, recognizing women in rural communities for their contributions to agriculture, advocacy, leadership, and community service.
Open to any woman connected to rural life, regardless of membership, nominations are now open and close on April 1, 2026.
The winner will be announced on June 23 at the PINZ awards in Auckland, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
The award, sponsored by Farmers Weekly and backed by Federated Farmers, Rural Women New Zealand, and Brightstar, marks the group’s Centennial Year and aims to highlight the vital role women play in New Zealand’s primary industries and rural society.
