A man was indicted for killing a woman and injuring her cousin in a Feb. 27 shooting in Kapolei over a missing iPad.
A 36-year-old man from Waianae was indicted in Honolulu on charges including second-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with a Feb. 27 shooting in Kapolei that killed 26-year-old Noel Lono and injured her 16-year-old cousin.
The incident began over a dispute about a missing iPad at the teen’s home, according to court documents.
The suspect, Shaison Laupola, allegedly opened fire during an argument, fatally shooting Lono and injuring the teen before turning himself in with a family member.
He is being held without bail at the Oahu Community Correctional Center.
Prosecutors may seek extended sentencing due to multiple charges, including firearm use during a felony.
The case remains under investigation.
