Iranian state TV hacked by exiled prince Reza Pahlavi, airing protest calls amid U.S./Israel blame and internet crackdown.
Iranian state television was briefly hacked on Wednesday, airing a message from exiled crown prince Reza Pahlavi urging military personnel and citizens to protest the Islamic Republic.
The broadcast, which included Farsi appeals, global protest footage, and international support, came after airstrikes on two IRIB complexes in Tehran caused casualties and disrupted services.
An IRIB presenter blamed the U.S. and Israel for the attack and said transmissions resumed from an alternate studio.
The hack coincided with ongoing technical issues and heightened government efforts to restrict internet access, including threats to block connections and refer users to authorities for repeated international web use.
