Both directions of I-405 in Bothell will close weekends of March 7–9 and March 13–16 to remove remaining ramps and support a major freeway expansion. Closures, from late Friday to early Monday, will cause 2- to 3-mile backups and up to an hour of delays. Detours include SR 522 and SR 527, with traffic rerouted through neighborhood streets and downtown Bothell. Key ramps will be shut, and WSDOT says safety and bridge protection require the work. The project includes new lanes, express toll lanes, transit improvements, and environmental upgrades. Drivers should plan ahead.
