Home sales in Toronto dropped 6.3% in February 2026, with prices and listings also falling due to buyer and seller hesitation.
Home sales in the Greater Toronto Area fell 6.3% year-over-year in February 2026 to 3,868 units, with average selling prices dropping 7.1% to $1.01 million and new listings declining 17.7%, according to the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board.
Active inventory fell 2.4% to 19,414 listings.
The slowdown is attributed to both buyers and sellers holding back, with buyers waiting for prices to stabilize and sellers hesitant to list amid uncertainty.
TRREB President Daniel Steinfeld noted that low new listings could boost competition and prices later in the year if supply remains constrained.
