Estée Lauder completes acquisition of Forest Essentials, India’s luxury Ayurvedic brand, in 2026, preserving its heritage and expanding its presence in India.
The Estée Lauder Companies has agreed to acquire the remaining 51% stake in India’s luxury Ayurvedic beauty brand Forest Essentials, completing full ownership.
The deal, expected to close in the second half of 2026, follows prior investments in 2008 and 2020.
Forest Essentials, founded in 2000 by Mira Kulkarni, will retain its New Delhi headquarters and continue managing its R&D, sourcing, and manufacturing in India.
The brand operates nearly 200 stores and is projected to grow at a low double-digit rate.
The acquisition strengthens Estée Lauder’s position in India, its largest emerging market, as it expands prestige beauty globally while preserving Forest Essentials’ cultural heritage and Ayurvedic identity.
