A DeKalb man was arrested for possessing 16 guns, drugs, explosives, and body armor in a vacant home.
A DeKalb man, Michael K. Lange, 28, was arrested after a Feb. 27 search of a vacant home on N. 15th Street uncovered 16 illegal firearms, high-capacity magazines, over 2,000 grams of cannabis, 15 to 100 grams of suspected cocaine, prescription drugs, body armor, two Glock switches, and homemade explosives.
The weapons and explosives were seized by authorities, with the latter handled by the Kane County Bomb Squad.
Lange was taken into custody at a residence in Maple Park and faces multiple felony charges, including possession of firearms, drugs, and devices capable of converting semi-automatic guns to fully automatic.
He was processed and transferred to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office to await a bond hearing.
The investigation is ongoing.
